Bad Axe Rejected Logo designs

Here are some rejected logo designs from a recent commission I did from an acquaintance of my mom, not the most glamorous start, but we all get our name out there somehow, right? I tried experimenting with different looks outside of what the client gave me, but even though she liked all of them she still chose the one closest to her pitch. I naturally am not going to show the winning design because that belongs to my client now.
